About the William Magee Institute

Mission

The mission of the William Magee Institute is to transform lives – and communities – by supporting students at all levels as they develop resiliency and maximize their potential through holistic well-being.

Vision

The William Magee Institute envisions schools, colleges, and universities where students thrive and graduate with more than an academic diploma. Prepared with the skills necessary to support holistic health, they leave school able to integrate wellbeing into the lives of their families, their co-workers, and their communities.

Goals

By harnessing the resources of the University of Mississippi and partnering with others, the William Magee Institute will conduct research, develop strategies, and implement programming to meet the following goals.

  • Educate students, families, and communities how to develop holistic healthy lifestyles,
  • Intervene if students develop unhealthy lifestyles, including those involving alcohol and other substances, and
  • Support students as they recover to holistic health.
